To my cousins and families. My deepest sympathy on the sudden death of your Mother. She was a very gracious and caring lady and aunt and I always looked forward to visiting with her. I will be remembering her and all of you in my prayers and Masses during this difficult time. I'm sorry that I can't attend either the visitation or funeral, but may you find comfort in knowing she will always be a beloved aunt and a much missed relative. I have sent a perpetual Mass enrollment for her. Love, Kay

To Bill and all of Lyla's family . Just heard from My sister-in-law Ruth Webster this morning about this and want to send Dolly and my condolences to you . I remeber your mother well from being at your house in HS and College and she was always very nice to me . I remember that great Buick convertible and her going off to golf. After reading her biography all I can say is we need more like her .I called Jim Black this morning in case he had not heard. Take care

Bill, Bob, Peter and Sharon. Babe and I wish to extend our deepest sympathy to you and your families. I am sorry we can't attend the wake, but I just had shoulder surgery Wednesday morning and am keeping close to home. I can't tell you all the great conversations and cocktails I have had with your Mother over the years at the Country Club. She was always very friendly to me and we had some good times together as well as seeing you guys at the club's various tournaments. Take care and we will be thinking of you. I will be doing a donation to MRCI Thrift Store where I volunteer in Lila's memory. Sincerely...the Paa's.

Please accept my condolences on the death of your mother and grandmother. I worked many Saturdays with Lyla at the Brown County Museum. She was always so gracious and welcoming to the visitors. When times were slow, she shared with me many stories of her years growing up and living in New Ulm. She was a great resource for exhibits and other research I did, including the 150th Anniversary of New Ulm exhibit and the "Step Into History" shoe exhibit (of course she was very helpful with this one!). She was such a lovely, gracious, community-minded, vibrant and generous person. She will be missed.
